Mike Vandenberg est un artiste multidisciplinaire établi dans la région de l'Outaouais, au Québec. Son œuvre explore la transformation des matériaux et la profondeur émotionnelle de l'abstraction, utilisant souvent du plastique industriel chauffé pour repousser les limites des médiums traditionnels.

Né à Ottawa en 1966, Vandenberg a étudié les beaux-arts au Cégep Heritage College et à l'Ontario College of Art, où il a obtenu son diplôme en 1993. Ses premières œuvres étaient axées sur l'imagerie et l'identité postmodernes, avant de s'orienter vers une abstraction inspirée par la nature après son retour en Outaouais en 2003.

Sa pratique actuelle se concentre sur la couleur expressive, le geste pictural et la tension entre le contrôle et le chaos. Les œuvres de Vandenberg ont été exposées dans des galeries de Montréal, Toronto et d'Ottawa.

Mike Vandenberg is a multidisciplinary artist based in the Outaouais region of Quebec. His work explores material transformation and the emotional depth of abstraction, often using heated industrial plastic to challenge the boundaries of traditional media.

Born in Ottawa in 1966, Vandenberg studied Fine Arts at Cégep Heritage College and the Ontario College of Art, graduating in 1993. His early work focused on postmodern imagery and identity, later shifting toward nature-inspired abstraction after returning to the Outaouais in 2003.

His current practice centers on expressive color, gestural mark-making, and the tension between control and chaos. Vandenberg’s work has been exhibited in galleries across Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa.
